As some of you already know myself and John (cougar) have been exchanging books for a while now, both of us read whatever is sent as we have similar interests then they get passed on to friends, go to the charity shop or get dumped in the recycling which seems a shame

So here is my idea, we give others on here a chance to read them before they are disposed of by posting them up on here

No real rules but to keep it sensible
~1 The books and the post must be free
~2 As many or as few as you feel like sending, my suggestion is a maximum of 5 to keep the postage costs down but its up to you
~3 The first to quote and comment here then PM the sender with address details gets them
~4 No picking and choosing its all or nothing whether that be 1 or 21
~5 Don't take the mickey to build up your own library eg if you take then put back in

So lets give it a go, i have aircraft related books available
Harrier 809 by Rowland White
Tornado by John Nichol
Sea Harrier over the Falklands by commander "Sharkey" Ward
Hurricane by Adrian Stewart

Go !

Excellent idea, unfortunately it would prove too expensive to keep buying new kindles just to post them on when I’ve finished a book, sorry don’t do paperbacks.

This assumes, of course, that anyone on here can actually read.
I've long held the suspicion that some on here get their grandkids to read and type on their behalf.

Which explains the upsurge in mental health issues in the younger generation. :risas3:

Just this morning I went to daughter’s to do the School run, five year old Tilly is learning to read & was sat with a book whilst eating her breakfast.
Suddenly she asked “what does sat mean?” As she was sitting down at the time I said “what are you doing right now?” She replied “nothing, just chilling”

Well done on introducing something new to the forum and I wish you well with it.

Its not for me as I like to keep ‘good’ books long term and read them a number of times…I know it’s a bit weird but I find more in them every time. Just reread Freakonomics for about the fifth time, interesting how the content feels different depending on what is going on in the world.
