After I filled out all the forms for BIRD to join the BMF and send them off, I got a letter back after a few weeks saying sorry, but they have changed the rules.. Now the club membership fee includes club insurance so instead of it costing us ?41.00 per year it was gonna cost ?130 a year..
I wrote explaining that as a virtual club we only meet up perhaps once or twice a year, but they said the new rules apply to every one.. I mailed back suggesting this attitude is not very forward thinking as more and more clubs are like us.. ( But then the BMF big noises do tend to live in the 1980's still )
They mailed back the SAME answer again, so in response I sent back my personal membership card in the post with a note saying they can stick it where the sun dont shine.. and after being a member for about 20 years I would NOT be rejoining until they dragged themselves forward in time at least 15 years or so....
Ever since that money grabbing fuckwit was taken on board as CEO all the BMF has been about is making money. ( I am tempted to go into rant mode here but will curtail myself ! )

Sooo, basically, unless we cough up a small fortune every year we cannot have a Bird stand :-(

just a thought but couldnt the bird stand at the bmf flogged something:dunno: like the bird gear, shirts caps badges etc and made back the pitch money that way..or used some of the profit from the bash to part fund it or something:dunno:
