BMF memba rally

For those of you that are thinking of going to the memba rally you might like to know that its not actually at the peterborough showground this year.

Somethings going on there at the moment, bulding work!!, so they're punting the campsite and entertainment down the road to some castle or house, and putting on a bus shuttle to and fro.

Not sure how honest they're being about it when you order the tickets. My mate ordered a bunch of tickets for our little group, then recieved a letter today telling of the changes. So far they don't want to give us a refund!!

Sounds bad. Just to make matters worse, I no longer live in Peterborough. The only castle-like structure I recall was the restaurant in front of the hospital?

The BMF site quietly mentions that it's at Elton Hall, 4 miles away.

I popped round to my mates last night and read the letter they sent him

It seems it could be a permanent new venue for the campsite!! In the letter they say its only a mile away as well!!

There is a back lane that looks like it goes straight into the show ground, but my guess is it won't be the route the bus's take as I doubt it'll be wide enough.

Only 2 bus's durng the day, but 4 at peak times. Only 4!! There must be a couple of thousand campers normally at the May show.

There is dedicated parking for campers at a dedicated entrance, but how long before we'll all be sober enough to ride the 4 miles??

And if you've got tickets already, make sure you hound them for refunds, although my mates gonna see if his card company wil refund the money.

I had a right run-in with the marshals one year at the tail-end, where I ended up camping 5-minutes walk from the entertainment in a "quiet" field, because none of the marshals directing us in had maps, or any idea where we should go.

You can just see them now redirecting the thousand bikers who turn up on Friday evening. :violin:

Better than that, last Tailend, theres me and 2 mates having a laugh with two other groups nearby, making a bit of noise at 2am like ya do, with a few beers inside ya, at a biker rally.

Some twat complains to the marshalls, so they come over telling us to go to bed!! They threatened to take our stereo's off us, quite how they'd take the one out of one guys car I'm not sure. They then threatened to evict us, so we told them go and get their boss to come and talk to us, but he never did.

The BMF is using outside staff to Marshell these events now, and they haven't got a clue.

I'd like to see someone ask the Bulldog Bash marshalls to tell us to go to bed at 2am!!

:t inconsiderate bugger 2am the only noise you should be making at that time should be a "gentle" snore like wot I do, so you don't disturb others around you!! :dunno:

Did about 8 or 9 memba rallys on the go but stopped going after the "safety police" took over and changed the marquee and all of the shenanagans that went on in there.I Saw the light and go to proper bike rallys now
