Anyone though of, or tried, fitting Bluetooth into their helmet for mobile phone calls?.

Can it be done, would it work?

I have a bluetooth that I use in the car but even using voice dialling you still have to press a button so it would not be practical on a bike,

I got a Jabra bt250 for about ?25 off of ebay, I use it with my Sony ericsson t610 never had a problem with it, works brilliant, got three extra gel ear pieces as well, it was brand new still in the box, bloke I bought it from bought it to use with his phone then discovered that it wasn't bluetooth compatible.

Jabra BT 250. Glad you're having some success with it DK.

I'm on my second one now. The first was utterly unreliable, forever losing it's pairing, only working on about 50% of incoming calls, etc. After many e-mails to Jabra in Denmark they conceded it was faulty and sent me a bag to post it away for checking. A few days later they sent me a new one with a note of apology, so I assume they tested it and found it faulty.

Now this one has gone much the same way. Had the phone checked, and tried a new phone, but still the same. Now the emails have started again, but this time I'm asking for a refund, which they are reluctant to talk about :bang: What I do know is it's gonna get me pulled over 'cos half the time it won't feckin work! :xm

There are two helmets in the market place which are blue tooth compatible.

Everything is fitted and ready to go.............................

Tried both and I would suggest you wait a while whilst they continue testing their products on the public...........................................

Come back in a year or so.....................

If you want working Bluetooth then Sony Erricson is the way to go, their phones and headsets are second to none in this respect (though the headsets are pricey)

The other great thing about Sony erricson is their voice activated automation actually works (on the T610), ie you can actually make a phone call without needing to press any buttons.

It is possible to link a phone to a bike using an autocom system, and it works reasonably well, however, there are some issues, not the least of which is stopping the phone from automatically 'pairing' with the bike when you are working in the garage.. something easilly stopped by turning off the bluetooth on the phone, but a pain in the ass

Bugger! What can you reccommend for Nokia phones? I've now got a company phone as well which is also Nokia so I dont have the option to go the Sony Erricson route, and I really want to get one that works properly... :h

I have the T610 but still have to press a button for the voice activated dialling, I am intrigued as to how to make a call without pressing any buttons

Activate the magic word functionality, then record a magic word, the phone will then constantly monitor the mic input for the magic word and when it hears it, it will put the phone into voice activation mode

The Jabra isnt a bad unit, its excellent value for money, but in comparison to the Sony Ericcson HBH headsets (which are 5 times the price) its lacking in all respects.

Nokia bluetooth works OK for data xfer, but sadly its apparantly crap for headsets, though, the truth be known Ive not tried a Nokia with my HBH-35 headset.

btw HBH headsets are cheaply available on ebay... well worth taking a look

Rubbish

Using Nokia HDW 3 with my sony-erikson phone and it is bloody rubbish. Totally unreliable. Sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. It's going back!!!

Got one of those jabra units for my Sony, (T630). Works brilliantly on that and the wifes Nokia 6820. The only problem I have with it is the two hour charge the headsets battery has. Could do with being longer
