bloody fork paint

Spent most of the day Saturday preping the fork bottoms and then painting them, left them to dry for 36 hours and was proud of the results.
Until that is i came to tighten the pinch bolts, i torqued them as specified in Honda manual then noticed the paint spider crack round them :xm Anybody know why this would happen ? the cure time on the paint can said 24 hours to fully cure.

at 100+ mph no-one could possibly see the cracks!

What paint?... what base coat... etching primer?

I keep looking at mine & thinking that i must paint them.
I might just pollish them instead.

Polish or Jaws powder coated.. seems the best options.

Or Polish THEN clear powder coat, mine are years old (5+) and only now are starting to mark slightly!!:dunno:

Might be 24 hours to harden, it'll take longer to fully cure.. and regretfully it'll still chip.. :bang:
