fl4g71 since we bought a HD recorder we haven't used the DVD recorder once. In fact, I tried for the 1st time on Sunday to record the 250 racing via BBCi, but it wouldn't have any of it, probably as BBCi isn't a real channel :dunno: .........

as for yours, do these things still have internal fuses?

I've not taken the cover off but I'll have a look in a bit

it'll be one of those 1 amp clear buggers. Or, the carpet fitters have screwed it up ............ check for a roll of old Duralay in the DVD drawer .......

Took the cover off & checked the fuse & it's ok, I did notice at the front of the recorder a little green light was flashing, it can only be seen from the front if the dvd drawer is open so power is getting through I would hazard a guess that one of the pcb's is fooked

I bought a TiVo a few years ago, and abandoned the VCR a very short time afterwards. I bought a DVD recorder about 2 years ago but have used it maybe twice? It's so clunky. If they ever stick TiVo software on a freeview hard drive recorder I'll snap one up in a second.

Even more puzzled now, just gone downstairs & switched it on & it's now working :dunno: maybe it was tired & just wanted a rest

As with lots of electronic items Derek, if they stop working, turn supply off and wait a few seconds then power up again. Always worth a try.
