Healthy diet????

won't do much if its familial. I tried all the non-medical lowering foods, etc and it didn't shift. There are risks with statins but for me, as a hypertensive as well, they are outweighed by the benefits.

I eat what I like & probably exercise less than I should although I'm quite active, my Cholesterol level is 3.2.
Bev is on simvastatin as her level is 9.5.
From the early 70's I have been a sun worshipper using only f2 oil, the hotter the weather, the more I like it.
Bev uses f50 & shades herself when the sun is out, she got skin cancer a few years ago.
My eldest brother hides from the sun yet he got skin cancer.
My father smoked from the age of 11 & gave up when he was 68 as he developed pneumonia, he lived to 91, one of his brothers never smoked & died of lung cancer at the age of 71.
Life is a lottery, if we listened to all the bullshit about what is good & bad for you we would be just eating grass.
Years back they said butter was causing heart attacks now they are saying it's margarine that can cause heart attacks, they haven't got a clue & just promote whatever's trendy at the time.

That is too true, I am 38 and have arthritis, never really 'abused' my body, yes was a builder when younger and weight trained but nothing my body couldn't handle easily, then at 33 I was diagnosed with it, luck of the draw...
Unfortunately it is 'luck of the draw', people will say this helps you live longer or that helps you live longer but at the end of the day I do also honestly believe it is purely by chance nowadays if you get cancer/arthritis or some other nasty 'surprise' that no one, well almost no one, deserves to get.

In relation to cholesterol, yes what we eat can and does have an effect on our bodies but there is a simple answer, eat in moderation, simple.
I believe the problem with humans nowadays is we binge on this and that, our bodies are bombarded with all this sh*t every day, what we put in them (even water is full of chemicals that are supposedly ok for humans to consume) and what we put them in (environment is full of sh*t in the air, keeping in mind that the skin is the largest organ on/in the body), in the end something has to give after years and years of abuse, especially when we pump our bodies full of chemicals to stop pain/aches/flu/symptoms/etc.
I am on, as well as I am sure many others here are, pills that reduce the affect of my immune system (stop my immune system from attacking me(arthritis)), thinking logically what sort of follow on effects will that have...

Glad water got mentioned, I avoid the stuff like crazy.

Simply since I am a fish keeper I test water for loads of stuff and help other people with their water.

Tap water in the UK is loaded with nitrates which is bad for human consumption.(in a fishtank fish poop) so the saying is I dont drink water cause fish poop in it is actually very accurate.
