I benefit from a free posh credit card as a result of previous employment.

It has 33 benefits bolted on from free membership of a wine club to a concierge service that is on call 24/7.

I have barely if ever used 32 of them, but make frequent use of the 33rd, unlimited free access to airport lounges for myself, my Mrs and my son and his wife.

Have a guess which one is being reduced to 3 x usage per annum at the end of the year?

Something that costs nothing, acts as a guarantee on hotel rooms/car hire, makes life easier and they even give me cash back for using it.

And gives a good degree of protection on larger purchases, very useful if something goes wrong - it's the credit card company's problem, not yours.

Spot on. I very seldom use cash for these very reasons.

As for the perks of your card, I turn left when I board a plane anyway so I don't need a credit card for lounge access
