Blackbird Bolt Heads

I am planning yet another paint job on the Blackbird, aiming to get it done over the winter by the girl that has done all the others so just scheming up something different, again !

Anyway the paint aint the problem, I have all the original fairing and body screws and what I would like to do is get them power coated to match the new paint.

I had them done years ago so around half of them are black but the others are now a bit scabby so I'd like to know if anyone can recommend somewhere who would take all the screws, clean them and then powder coat them.

All of the ones I have, have the 6 little indentations which I'd like to keep.

I did look at the usual kits of stainless replacements from Pro Bolt, etc but as you'll know a few of the originals are shoulder bolts so they dont damage the plastic as they are being tightened and i'm not sure the St Steel kits have the shoulders or just straightforward screws.

So just looking for some pointers in case anyone knows anywhere who would do that fiddly job so once I drop the bike off later in the year I can give them a replacement set colour coded to the new paint !

Powder coating might make the bolts a bit tighter when you refit them, why not clean them up and anodise them again, kits are quite cheap ?

You would mask off the thread and maybe the shoulder and just powder coat the head. The bolts are steel not aluminium so you wouldn't be able to anodise them. Electro plate them, yes.

Ahh, I thought they were aluminium. I got some nice titanium ones for the screen, the same seller does complete fairing/screen sets I think.

Clueless in most things
You can still get new original ones from Honda dealers, would it be worth getting a set and having them powder coated?

I've just ordered the 5 big ones ( 3 on the body and 2 on the seat cowel) including postage was ?16.44 so would be cheaper from a dealer close with no postage?
