Come on you Hatters
Don't forget that the number of Bird owners must be diminishing so perhaps Johns spreading the net wider is the future?

Well I joined a group of Oracle Pan owners for a Scotland jaunt in July and ended up the only Pan there!! Moving onto a different make and model shouldn't stop anyone remaining friends and keeping in touch and to continue attending such events surely. There's always been at least one alternative bike at every McBash Ive been too, including me on my Pan at this years.

People are just too busy, plain and simple. As much as we all want to do these things, sometimes other things end up more important.

I tried to attend Lumpys last Bash about 4-5 years back. As I recall I was already away with the familly at our caravan, but had my gear with me to head up and join in, but the weather was a total washout, we were already almost flooded out and from what I remember so was the Bash. I'll admit I bottled out, I was already wet enough stopping on our caravan site at the time. Not had a chance to go since as he's stopped doing them.

Its a thankless task for anyone that trys to organise any event. I do a couple of trips a year for our local club, Scarborough in June and Normandy in September, and out of a membership of 130-140 i'm lucky if I get 12 and 6 going to each!!

I've been on lots of weekend do's with different BO groups, as well as commercial groups. First issue is often camping, which we don't do. B&B accommodation is sometimes available, but I've never managed to get any in time. :bang:
Secondary, is that I don't like "Heavy Metal" I know proper biker should. I'm also not a drinker, which sets me aside .
Thirdly, I'm not a fast rider, so struggle to keep up on faster rideouts, even with my local club.
The fact that I no longer have 'bird' is, perhaps, incidental fl4g71

You will love next years Bash then !!
We have our own band performing .. Lots of 60's, 70's and some later stuff..
A lot of sing along stuff if you fancy joining in and no doubt a rendition of Alice :-0)

I'm the same as you mate hence the reason the McBASH (and the O'BASH next year) is not based on camping, I HAVE to Camp with the Scout Group but given the choice, no chance !

If you fancy the O'BASH get in there and get your room booked now while there are some still available !

Heavy Metal ? we've never had music other than the local Caleigh band in the pub but all very unofficial and last two years, just us in the pub for a blether.

Not a drinker ? well I can say that not one person that I can remember at all of the 6 McBASHes have been necking gallons, especially me, we just sit around and drink what we feel comfortable with (other than the odd bottles of wine, eh, eh Damient !!)

Not a fast rider ? I think most people at the McBASH will verify that this years Ride Out was anything but fast, probably because I was leading ! There were problems last year but that was my fault so this year the 50-60mph Ride Out on the fantastic roads around here was quite fast enough.

No Bird ? Doesnt matter !!

This is why I and Damien have and are organising this sort of BASH, as opposed to a typical bike rally. There are plenty of that type around for those that like them, and many do, and then there are ours, which are organised totally differently so the choice is there to go to the sort of BASH that you like.

I'll definately be organising another McBASH in 2016 but next year we're off to Ireland !

Check out the O'BASH Mick I'm sure it would be worth the effort.

Is a lunp
I don[t drink and I hate camping, and heavy metal is okay and not at all a streotypical view to a biker

It's been known for me to ride 220 miles, stay a few hours and ride home, or even drive up and back without staying. Still get the chance to meet people. Don;t drink? Then Don't. Heavy metal isn't force fed either. Camping isn't mandatory. I have camped because it's worth the effort, sometimes we do things we don't like for the greater good.

Hugh not turning up was a plus point BTW

Folk/blues/steam punk at your last camp, and you seemed to enjoy kev staying in your tent

I have met some great people from this site,( yeah me) and Robbo, so it has all been worth it, so seek solace in that and don't try to make a biker out of a hobbyist and don't expect people to bother. Cynical but true.

On the other points, big runs are dangerous, if people can't be arsed to get to an event, they sure as fuck won't be tempted by a ride out will they?

Forget Bashes for now, how many people actually go and meet anyone they don't know off here?( I did ) Next to none. Even local ones( you used to be:-0)) . I can understand people not wanting to meet me( ME), but there are some decent sorts, and those that have are the richer for it, those that can't be arsed can fuck right off, it's their loss.
I confess, I am guilty of the local reference, but you did do a moonlight.and you can be a ladyparts
