So the idea is to use the bird as the core of an adventure style bike.. About the only REAL problem envisaged so far is the chain instead of a shaft, but......

A quick think and search suggests that a set of forks from a KTM 900 (or similar ) might do for the front end, which points nicely to matching wheels perhaps ?

What other stuff ( please be realistic ! ) would people suggest ? What seat? what tank ?
You get the idea....

Serious answer ;)

I don't think its going to work in any meaningful manner as an adventure bike if you are using the stock frame, the geometry is all wrong & if you add long forks etc its going to get even further away from what's needed for a true adventure bike

If you are just going for the look again I think the stock frame will be the limiting factor, wrap around frames don't lend themselves to adventure bike styling at all imo

But if you were to build a frame to suit I think the engine with its broad spread of power on the right gearing would be ideal for adventure bike use

Let me worry about the geometry Slim :)
Folk are limited by what is 'the usual' or thinking things cannot be done
I have no such inhibitions .... Who would start building a pick up truck out of a PA Cresta ?
Me !
Who would build a trail bike out of a totalled RS 250 ( Simply cannot be done, engine is wrong.. So ? Change the characteristics... Frame is wrong.. Its a GP bike fer chrisake !! So? Change it ! )

As long as the angle grinder, lathe, mill and tig keeps working anything is possible

Preaching to the converted there mate, I have built a dozen or more frames from the ground up so know what's involved I just don't think a bird frame is suitable for what you intend & you did ask ;)

To give you some idea of my past projects 3.5 v8 trike, 2l twincam fiat bike, 1127 gsxr engine in a triumph tiger, cbr1000 "trials" bike, numerous chops, v8 in both a vauxhall firenza & a moggie minor, reliant kitten pickup with a gpz1000 engine, the list goes on so no I don't have inhibitions as to what can be done
