Looks like the retailers have managed to score a massive own goal with this one now.
Because it is no longer black Friday but black couple of weeks at least, shoppers no longer felt the urge to buy 'on the day'.. Locally the footfall in the big shops was actually LESS than was expected on a normal Friday !

Also it's transferred to the internet, and maybe a lot of people are realising it's not quite the discounting they'd have you believe it is.

For Black Friday read' a chance to entice people to buy all the crap we can't get rid of by having three big TVs at silly discounted price'.

You can fool most of the people most of the time.

We were dreading it, as we deliver near trafford centre, roads were dead, never seen it so quiet on a Friday, lot of people took the day off to go online.
Even today the roads are dead

There have also been many people in the media claiming that prices had been marked-up to enable the 'fantastic' mark-down. g0551p

Sadly that is endemic - take a look at the 'small print' on tv ads for electronics - -almost always something like 'previous price between 1st and 28th October - which surprise surprise is how they meet the criteria for 'sale prices'. No mention of what the price was before 1st October.......

To be fair there are some really good deals but more often than not APpliances Online or Richer Sounds are as competitive as the 'sale prices' advertised.

Oh, by the way - be quick, Oak Furnitureland sale ends soon..........8rfl@

Did you read the reviews? Apparently the one that's shipped to the UK has not got many of the features that they have in the USA. Lots of folks not happy!

Yes mate.. The only thing I would want that it does not do is read books.. But

1) Woman is a technophobe and it is going to be used, at best, in a fairly basic way
2) I needed something original as a Christmas present, and as the new version is not due until next July at the earliest that is a tad late
3) While a lot of the people doing the reviews are quite correct, they have not actually done any checking..
Amazon are ( at the moment ) promising a free firmware upgrade when the new units are available in the UK

You can't expect Andy to use a normal bucket to catch the leaks from his plastic plumbing.
Shows his class using a champagne bucket for it.
