Not really John. I need to flash the bios but that is at best 70/30 successful in my experience. I need to replace the ram so I'm ordered that. Work in progress.

Some motherboards keep a second "read only" copy of the Bios for recovery purposes if the main Bios fails to update properly. Have you checked to see if yours has that.?
Might make it a bit easier to do the Bios flash if it does.

Thanks JB. I did that. Was hoping for a few more experienced suggestions.I really have forgotten more than I now remember on bios problems. Age does that as you will hopefully find out.

On some of the system boards, there is a jumper which can be switched to access a second copy, it appears yours does not have this from the diagram.

Have a look at Page 69 and onwards on this version of the manual, it has a section on updating the BIOS.....
