You get what you pay for

I assume this lot is no good on a Carb bird as it is listed as 2004 injection?

the tank wont fit and you'll also have to swap out the air intake in the nose cone

Actually is the mudguard slightly different as well

Marcel on the blackbird FB page has had two sets of INJECTION MOULDED fairings from these guys and says both sets were good quality and fitted well.

https://store.motomarts.com/c-1964-1997.aspx?SearchTerm=&sortBy=priceascending&section=-1098-

They look identical to the ones I pointed to on eBay. It leaves me wondering how good the red set match the standard Candy Glory Red tank on my bike...

Also a bit worried that they say the same set fits carb and injection. Which did Marcel have?

His is an Fi bike. see here - https://www.facebook.com/Repsolbird

The difference between Carb and Fi are - Fuel Tank and the V piece in front of the headers - all the other panels will fit no problem.

The reason I suggested this supplier is because they have been tried and have proven to fit properly. The parts are Injection moulded rather than the cheap and nasty thermoforming.

Interestingly, the pics here are identical to the last detail, yet this says ThermoFormed.

I wonder which is right.

If you look through the motomarts listings - they ALSO offer at a different price the thermoformed kits.
( they also put a warning on the thermoformed kits that you will need to adjust them to fit !!!!!! )

I can only go by Marcel's recommendation after having two sets of Injection moulded kits off them and both fitting correctly.

Bike went off to MCE yesterday for assessment. Expecting a write-off/buy-back.

Then I have to decide on the way forward. Been chatting to Taffy. Seems like a good option...

MCE delivered me a CBF1000 2011 bike to ride. Blackbirds do have a habit of making other bikes feel very ordinary. :)

A 2011 loaner!?! Normally they are really new. I've had a VFR800 with 15 miles on it and a CBF1000 with just a few thousand. Given they're charging approx ?100 a day it doesn't take long to cover the costs.

I found the CBF1000 very good at wafting me to and from work (plenty of low down grunt) but it was really REALLY inert.
