In Birmingham we have some Bus Taxi and Bike lanes and some which are Bus Taxi Motorcycle and Bike lanes. The markings are quite clear. c7u8

Yes But No But Yes But on the V5 for your 'bike' it is classed as a 'Bicycle' under taxation class ?

Surely that would be a good argument if it came to court ??

It does indeed say Bicylce on the V5, but it is also a motorvehicle ..

I mean, titanium owners know how accurate the V5 is.. look at the colour !

And if you think thats odd.. a good many Smart Car owners have on the V5 that their ForTwo is a three seater.. Fook knows where the third seat is spos'd to be !

Sorry to disappoint Ian but there will be no trial, I was merely setting a debate, as Baz says on the V5 it is classed as a bicycle.

how about "debating" the ?5000 fine and criminal record for using a "bus/sportsman/vip" lane during the Olympics then when ONLY VIPs :wank: will be able to use the "new" lanes and the rest of us "non VIPs" will have to wait in the gridlock!!! all I hope is that every day thousands of "non VIPs" break down and have to park in these "vip" lanes that should show the bastards!!

fancy admitting to buying a second hand Avenger!! :eek: :}

I passed my test in an Avenger and I swore that I would never have one, but anything was better than the poxy Viva that overheated when I had driven a mile in it, so I traded that in the choice I had was the Avenger 1600GLS in Imperial Red with black vinyl roof, twin headlamps, and twin Stromberg carbs, walnut dash, recarro seats. or a fiat Mirafiori, the insurance was cheaper on the Avenger so that's what I opted for, no regrets it was a fantastic car and it got me from Chelmsford to Leeds and back several times.

Highway code paragraph 119.

I'll type it in 'cos I know you can't be arsed to look it up yourself Dez

These are shown by road markings and signs. You MUST NOT drive or park in a cycle lane marked by a solid white line during it's times of operation. Do not drive or park in a cycle lane marked by a broken white line unless it is unavoidable. You MUST NOT park in any cycle lanes whilst waiting restrictions apply.
Law RTRA sects 5 & 8.

As a member of the IAM (car, bike, and 6 points) I always keep my copy of the highway code handy. :neenaw:

IMO a motorcycle is a MOTOR VEHICLE and is therefore subject to all the laws/rules relating to cars/vans/buses/lorries and other MOTOR VEHICLES I can't immediately bring to mind.

In the Road Traffic Act a motor vehicle is described as a "mechanically propelled vehicle intended or adapted for use on a road".

This would be the reason that a "No Motor Vehicles" sign shows a car and a bike then ?

No, I haven't been swotting my highway code - I'm just a smart arse !

In all the towns, and in all the bus lanes...

The only place I have seen a sign specifically showing that motorcycles
are allowed in the bus lane was .

Hull

Is there anyone in Hull that can take a picture of the sign on the A63/A1033 and post it here so the we can all be shown what one looks like.

That would be intresting.
