Very predictable but here we go anyway.

I had the renewal for the two Panzers this morning from Bike Sure, whom I've been with since I can't remember. £523, which sounded a little on the high side. A quick search on MCN showed I could insure the GS A for £122 with Carole Nash and the R1250 for £228 with, ahem, Bike Sure. I rang them up, and you know how it goes from here.............

Policy down to £378. That'll do.

Got a pre renewal email today to remind me that all insurers are duty bound to ensure current customers are quoted the same or better than a new policy. Bikesure appears to have forgotten that.

Don’t know why you bother you don’t ride them anyway. Normally just throw them down the road

Best quote on meerkat was £149, brother got his for about £105. Only 2yrs between us in age, he's got 3 pts I've 0pts.He's in Goole I'm in Barnsley. I put it down to having an open claim for getting hit from behind in the car. What gets me is that it's accepted by both insurers that I'm not at fault but due to admin issues they won't close the claim.

I foolishly reported an interface I had with a van on my Fazer 600, no injuries, both parties agreed we would sort out our own very minor damage, no claims made…and I got a premium increase as a result.

Lesson learned.

Why are the "Excesses" not included above as I think are are as important as the cost.

You’d be better off in a 106. At least you could carry on ‘eating on the move’. Fatty.

I don't need to eat on the move. I can quite happily consume my 4,000 calories a day without needing to do so on the move. Besides, there's not enough power in the 106 to carry me and my tuck bag.

Mine are £500 compulsory.

I had an 'interaction' with a VW Beetle once when on the bike. Total accident but my fault; pulled up at lights between two lanes of cars and at the exact spot where I put my foot down was a f'ing pot hole. No more than two inches deep but enough for me to lose my balance. I told the lady I'd pay myself and that even though it was my fault, it would still affect her premium as well both my bike and car insurance, plus Mrs P's. I also said that if she was married, it would most likely affect her husband's policy if she was a named driver. Anyhoo, she reluctantly agreed after her son verified that my mobile number was genuinely mine. A couple of weeks and £600 later, that was the end of it and insurances none the wiser.

No, she didn't.

Insurance companies only act on info they're given (mostly) so even with no fault accidents, it will increases your risk score. I bumped the back of a learner school car at a roundabout on my Bird a few years ago. No damage to the bike, I didn't even drop it & no damage to the car. Instructor & learner went on their way after inspecting the back of her car & I carried on to work.

3 weeks later I was contacted by my insurance company as I'd failed to report an accident, the driver & passenger was claiming whiplash injuries. and a smashed rear bumper on the car. Fortunately I had presence of mind to take photos at the time, which showed no damage. The claim was eventually thrown out but as a claim had been made against me (even though potentially fraudulently), my risk score had gone up as did my insurance premium on renewal.
