My renewal with Bennet's has gone up 20 quid this year (due Monday) looking at the meerkats its 12 quid cheaper than that with them & there is one a couple of quid cheaper than that :D
I always check what is included (legal expenses, breakdown, kit cover etc, plus voluntary and compulsory excess) as cheaper policies are not always the best value.

its what I used to do when I had a few bikes all at the same time, a little research may get you a decent discount 2 bikes insured on one policy & another bike on a stand along policy can be cheaper than all 3 together & it sometimes works better to use different companies for different bikes

Remember companies on compare the market offer discounts if you are a new customer because they want the trade & the quote on there will often be less than the renewal from the same company because of this, it hacks them off no end if you take their net offer & when they ask for your proof of no claims you tell them to look at your last policy which was with them :D
I’m with Bikesure and my renewal was cheaper last year than previous so I was happy. My BMs are expensive so I may keep the two of them with Bikesure and take me ‘Bird to a stand alone policy.

I set up a new policy with Bennetts last, with all the whistles and bells. Happy with the quote.

Had my renewal through today and its £32 more expensive than my new policy!

Yup absolutely correct I always check too but as I don't take out any of the extras just going with the cheapest for the same cover works for me & its a bonus if they throw something in for free (y)

So it takes two brokers working together to get a cheaper price? Feckin nuts.

My car insurance renewal came through this morning. LV have put my policy up to £549 from £490 last year yet they’re coming out at £508 on the comparison sites for equivalent cover. I can get the same price with Admiral or pay a few quid more for a couple of others and I’m tempted to just go elsewhere and pay a little more on principal. I’ll be ringing them in the morning.

I've had a gutful of that sort of thing, so my default response is now to take my business elsewhere.

I really can't be arsed any more with having to chase them for a better price, when at the end of the day their default response is to take the p*ss out of loyal customers with an inflated renewal cost.

Tis what I sad earlier, on the comparison sites you get treated as a new customer & get a discount in the hope that you will just renew the next year, I have done it a few time with the same company eg take the net offer then tell them my last policy was with you so look it up when they ask for proof of NCD …………. they really don't like it up em but there is nothing they can do :D

What really ticks me off is that you cannot cancel your insurance online.
You can renew all day feckin long.
That needs to be changed pronto.
Providing a phone number is wasting
my feckin time.
I don't want to talk with someone reading off the company script in my lug 'ole.
Bastids.

Just off the phone to them and, unsurprisingly, they've managed to drop it down to £500 from £549. However, Admiral, who increased my policy at renewal last year by almost £200, are coming in at £451. It's a no brainer really, switch back to Admiral now and then back to LV next year

How long was you on the phone?
I'm sat here waiting for some numbnuts to pick up the feckin call...Now 16 mins?
Unable to cancel policy on line..If i don't get through then automatic renew will apply.
I think i'm gonna start a petition and demand we can all cancel on line. Bastids!

Well..After finally speaking to some humanoid, 'Bennetts' were unable to quote their cheaper quote
which i received via 'Gocompare' even though it's still, wait for it........'Bennetts?'
When i asked why? Answer..because a different team did the renewal quote.
So I have cancelled this renewal and will again re-insure with 'Bennetts' at £33 cheaper.
The name 'Gordon' comes to mind.:BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

Bennett are lying gits, in my opinion.

Whenever I take out insurance I always either select no auto renewal or else immediately ring up and ask to Canx auto renewal for the following year. I also keep a record of when/who/time etc.

When I rang Bennetts to cancel automatic renewal they told me it was a govt. Requirement and you couldn't cancel it.
Told them in that case cancel the policy I took out ten minutes ago online to start in two weeks.
They went away and came back and said that actually they could cancel the auto renewal.... You don't say!!

The following year they bumped the premium up so I went elsewhere.

Only to get a letter from them saying they'd auto renew... Grrrrr

Which the bastids did.

I complained and got told all their policies renew as it's a govt requirement.
Gave them the details of previous year's phone call.
They rang me back, apologised, blamed a new computer system and promised refund with 36 hrs.

Week later no refund has appeared.
Ring them to be told it was waiting for a supervisor to authorise it....

Told them sort it or I go to insurance ombudsman, motorcycle press, forums and shout from the roof tops.
36 hours later they refunded.

I've not been back to them since

25 minutes for LV and I lost my sense of humour waiting for Admiral after about 20 minutes. I called Admiral back 15 minutes before closing time and they answered within three minutes.

You don't have to auto-renew; a call to your bank/credit card will stop that.
