I think it may be cos I started reading when I was 4 years old and progressed to fairly adult stuff at a very early age, that I have a vivd imagination.
When you read you fill the pictures in with the minds eye..
So ALL horror films, no matter how mundane by others standards, scare the feck outa me ..
And because of that I just do not watch them..
Even daft films like Carry On Screaming has dark undertones which worry me !

Thought the remade Thing was excellent, dont really get scared now but when I were a lad we used to have a film club at school that showed X rated films and "Its alive" and "it lives again" were pretty scarey.

It was even scarier if like my best mate your dad was a fireman with a warped sense of humour!

Off to bed after being scared sh*tless by the vampire boy floating through the window and dad pops a ladder up and does a reconstruction!

Its got to be the old classic one for me, THE HAUNTING i think it was called,
it was a black and white film about a haunted house. You will probably remember it with that spiral stair case. It gets me every time. There was no need for blood and gore just play on your imagination . They made a remake of the film, big mistake it was crap. :bang:

Scariest film

w;;v Of the new horror genre I would say ALIEN :puke: the original one. But in the dim and distant past a film called The Wicker Man. Nothing to do with Alan Whicker by the way as all his programmes are scary

 8ree!

I have been trying to think of

one that has really scared me. I am a major horror fan. Love watching them

The one that has suddenly sprung to mind is the Film made of Stephen Kings book 'IT'.

The other one which is one I love watching it 'THE SHINING', yet another Stephen King.

The EXORCIST was a fantastic horror. I remember feeling quite disturbed after watching that. I must admit I think French and Saunders ruined it by doing the funniest and most brilliant take off of it.

I have just sat through the excorsist 2 the heretic, more of a comedy than a horror, what the hell was Richard Burton thinking of agreeing to that I mean he must have seen the script before hand,

I love King but they usualy make a right pigs ear of his stuff on the screen. Needfull Things and The Stand were dismal. Stopped watching them after that. It always works better in my head.
