Likewise Clive I am a first aider already but I am surprised nobody has taken you up on this as it is a very worthwhile thing to learn

I'm not, unfortunately most of them talk the talk and unless you deliver it to them on their lap, on their sofa in their lounge then you are wasting your time. It really is a shame especially as we read daily about these twats riding into roundabout kerbs, petrol station bollards etc - don't bother in future.

I think a lot of people are afraid to take the reponsibility of first on scene or taking over as a first aider, even some doctors have been known to freeze on discovering an accident

I think that is probably the main reason for avoiding learning. If you don't know it, you can't be expected to take any responsibilty.

Not a good reason not to learn, but not a bad one either!! h1d1ng2

Thanks Smixxy.......Which is exactly what Gina was offering, a certificated course with the back up of St.Johns and a low price insurance cover (St Johns Ambulance) option to cover trained persons from any comeback..

Maybe if Gina has a chat with anyone interested for next year, you can ask any concerns you may have.

Please read the second post of http://www.bikersoracle.com/blackbird/forum/showthread.php?t=31480

Please note that if someone is in a position that they need resusitation they are 'technically' dead, if you help them they stand a chance of recovery, if you do nothing and wait for an ambulance they are more than likely dead.. So would 'free' resusitaion training be of interest.

I'm already a qualified first aider, so that is why i didn't put my name forward, but I agree it should be a skill everyone should learn.

Probably, but resus training would not take that long.... One or two spoke to Gina after the information we were given at the SOSB and were under the impression that resus was to get air into the lungs... not .... heart massage.

So she was going to bring along her annies and even the baby annie to allow peeps to practice resus properly.. free.

If any of the above is incorrect, please feel free to correct it as I am not a trained person like Gina... (She's not here at the moment to comment).
