:)Hi have just joined, Great site, will be picking up a red 1999 T reg black bird this week end, cant wait, tried it last week, fast or what, only thing I did notice was how low the bars were, have been used to mor up right position, dealer told me it's not advisable to fit risers. up sets balance, is there bars on the market which would allow slightly more height, or would it foul the tank on full lock, It would be great to get some feed back on the subject if poss, or has any one had the same problem, I also would like advice on screens, cant make up my mind on flip up, or double bubble, as I'm just over 6feet, hope to here from some one. thanks.

Well, you've come to the right

place for advice be it wanted or not:p

I believe helibars are available from the States. Also it takes the VFR800 bars new one I believe, although I think alot have fitted spacers on here without trouble.

Screens is so personal I think you will be flooded with advice!!!

Sorry its rather quiet at the moment!:B

Welcome to the site, yes you have come to the right place! I have just ordered a set of VFR VTEC bars from David Silverman spares, which I am told will give you a slightly raised position without effecting, cables etc, some minor mods are required. I think they cost about ?59 each bar, if you are willing to wait three weeks or so, or ?79 each bar, if you want them next week!, I ont know what the reasoning is!
As for Screens, its a personal thing and being a short arse, I dont tend to get effected by wind etc, so I go for looks, and have just got an Irridium Double bubble, my 4th Screen since I bought the Bike in '97!

Safe riding

Hi Mate!

Had mine for three weeks now and just fitted a Double Bubble screen from Sidmarx. I can honestly say it hasnt made a bit of difference. I'm just over 6 feet and thought it would. I may try a Flip up but will probably go back to the Honda original. All Honda parts are far better quality than the aftermarket options....

I get really bad wrist ache (right only) but hopefully it will dissapear after a while! I woint be fitting new bars as it is bound to affect the looks of the bike..

Keith, have you tried raising the stock bars up the fork legs? It doesn't look much, but I was suprised at the improvement it made for me.

ways to go

take the clips out and raise the bars. A number of people have gone this way and are very happy with the results. Others have gone the Heli bar way.... for me they are to ugly. Myself I did the VFR(02) method and am very happy with the results. As for screens you pays your money and takes your choice, I have an MRA fitted and it works for me. I'm 6 foot and no problems :D
