Dont care what the others say.....

Sorry to hear of your misfortune Ian...

Hope you feel better soon. Get Tina to drive you to the Motrcycle Museum tomorrow....

As for bad backs; I use the same method as Reefer... I go for a ride on the birdy... The forward position of the bike gives my back a good stretch, and tends to give it some exercise as well...Give it a try with the half bottle of painkillers, you may just cure it.....

Best to ya mate...

Cheers,

Rolfy

ps... Its a good way of getting out of the home DIY jobbies...

had a prolapsed disc a couple years ago but the way it was i was better off working as i could only sit for around 20 mins at a time without being in agony and had to get up and wander around. for 18 months i had to survive on about 3 hours sleep a night and maybe a snooze in the evening draped over a bean bag.
i had to get my mrs to put my socks and shoes on as i could only bend down far enough to touch my knees ( and that was on a good day ) thank fook i wear pull on rigger boots to work so i didnt need help to put them on.

i could only manage to drive a car or the works van for about 30 mins at a time but managed to ride my ZZR1100 to france and back with very little problems except the tiredness and top quality painkillers (tramadol dihydrocodeine or some thing like that .......... brand name Zydol) made me a little drowsy occasionally so i had to pull over and have a snooze for 1/2 hour or so.

pretty much fixed now after going into hospital for chemonucleolysis which basically involved sticking a needle in my side going all the way into the disc and injecting an enzyme which dissolved part of it releiving the pressure on the nerves

will never be completely fixed but i can live with it now (with the help of some herbal painkillers :-: )

Future reference Ian, back straight, bend knees, keep load as close to body as possible fecked backs aren't a source of major enjoyment

was told they were opiate based but not too sure :dunno:

at least the day at work went fairly well .............. normally there is always some dickhead tries to piss me off but when on the Zydol everything was just fine and dandy :-:

Send them then, I have had a bad back for years and would appreciate an alternative to the bottles of pills I need to take, especially the higher dose to get me through a weeks touring :lick:

had a bad back for years after a car crash and working as an aprentice mechanic with a short arse, has been made worse by 3 physios giving me different advice on excercises, only the final one would admit that it was a disc problem and needs the attention of an osteopath.

been trying to get dihyrocodine from the doc but she wont give me it cause I asked for it directly (think she recons I'm after it cause its so good with a few beers:lick: ), keeps giving my paracetamol based cr@p that doesn't work.:bang:

Bloody docs know nowt. Dont they understand that high doses of Codeine make you constipated and you need to beer to keep you , well, erm, flowing so to speak :)
