Anyone got a good route to get from Le Havre to Lyon / Geneva without using motorways?!

Okay, I could do the easy thing of using N and D roads alongside the autoroutes, but some of you guys may know some gems en route that we can use (or some mares we can avoid!).

i reckon if you put this post up on www.ukgser.com you will get a few good roads :)

i did a bit of a search on there, heres an excerpt from one post for around geneva.

get to geneva - go round the lake and near evian go up over the passes to northern itally
grand st bernard pass and petit st bernard- both very nice
northern italy lake maggione is beautiful

the grand st bernard pass is supposed to be awesome and its not far from geneva

iv been over the grand st bernard pass on the way back from lake maggior in northern italy and it was pissing down at the bottom and freezing fog at the top but then it turned into a sunny day the drop down into geneva from the alps is really good lots of switch back bends and an awsome veiw all the way down to the lake we went out through the mont blanc tunnel which id avoid as it takes half an hour and it bloody freezing and theres strict speed controlls not much fun
