Fekk me Robbo. What fookin stone you been hiding under eh?

The Northern Lights were big news the other week as every fooka that wasn't hiding under a stone north of a southern place could see them due to them being particularly visible and spectacular recently. I missed them tho' cos of the fookin cloud cover :bang:

Big scary lights in the sky

Aurora are more likely to be seen in late winter/early spring but usually to be seen as far south as Scotland takes a sizable Coronal Mass Ejection (CME).

It's also dependent on the strength on the magnetosphere & geomagnetic activity.

or you can look here for possible sightings in the UK. They even show you how to build a detector

Hello Timothy, It appears I too, was unable to see the lights, also due to the cloud cover,:dunno: you do live only 20 or so miles from me,
hence my query as to where we might be able to see them in Scotland, :dunno:

Demonbane, thanks for the link and the spelling lesson!!@tu*

You may find it a bit warmer going to see the Aurora aurea, the southern lights.

Round about June time you can see the Southern lights from mission Bay, just outside Auckland.

Fucking scary if you are eating your fish and chips at 23.30Hrs and not expecting them.
