Are the differences that different?

Clueless in most things
I've had several birds but I have always made sure they are between 97-2001 so avoiding the cats and the euro nonsense.

But with sorting out accommodation so I can have a garden in Jan/Feb, I'm looking again to buy probably in Feb and starting to see some newer low mileage birds within a reasonable price.

To those who have had birds across the ages from carb to almost the last birds, was the difference as much as you often hear? Was it enough to put you off, was the ability to buy a far younger bike worth any differences etc?

Generally, those who have only had the later models are all quite happy.. Nowt wrong with them ( same as any Bird ) ..

Some, like me, prefer the carb ones for the better mpg, the fewer electrical issues and the higher top speed

Nothing wrong with the newer bikes, but the carb gives all the same with a little less stress. If I buy another, (which would be a keeper) it would be a low mileage, previously garaged, carb. My current tally is 1 carb 2 EFI so I need to even things up.
