Mastaaaaaahh, they are almost certainly wasps. Grasshopper can see one of the little sods very clearly at about 1:32 of the video. Mrs P says they’re quite common in roof spaces.‘Spin a beautiful day today.
Hot!
Garden-pottered/bike-pottered/beer-food and banter-pottered.
Day turned into a lovely evening and then…
…I noticed these little chappies….!
Anyone know who/what they might bee (see what I did there? )
Mrs DA sez the local Beekeepers Association sez they're not honey bees, but they will abandon their nest "at the end of the season" (July?)Hard to tell properly but they look like honey bees.

Mrs P says “you don’t want them bastards livin’ in yer roof!” and I would concur. They tend to die off around September time anyway so I’d leave it until then.
A friend of mine is a bee keeper and she said honey bees don’t live in roof spaces. The season depends on weather but I’m hoping for my next batch of raw honey around September time, so it’s not end of season yet.Mrs DA sez the local Beekeepers Association sez they're not honey bees, but they will abandon their nest "at the end of the season" (July?)

I am afraid I am unable to decipher your message at this time...
...and very large they are, too, Grasshopper...THEY’RE WASPS, MASTAAAAAAAH.
....I don't think you'd squeeze even ONE of those under my roof slates, Del....They are honey bees disguised as wasps, they are living in the roof to fool you into thinking they are wasps
What the hell's HE got to do with it?Close up I’d say, definitely Jaspers.
Common wasps are colloquially called "jaspers" in some English regions (Dorset, Lincolnshire, and elsewhere in the English Midlands); whether this comes from the Latin vespa or from the abdomen resembling the striped mineral jasper, is not clear. What the hell's HE got to do with it?
(I think yer losin' it, Del!)
No, she doesn’t. Badly worded on my part; they don’t usually live in roof spaces when they have a nice cosy hive to go home to. That clear enough?Picture from a mate who owns a pest control business.
I think Poo-Plops bee-keeper mate needs to re-think what she knows.
So your beekeeper mate lives in an attic. No, she doesn’t. Badly worded on my part; they don’t usually live in roof spaces when they have a nice cosy hive to go home to. That clear enough?
