The advert on TV for Capital One? where they are going on about identity theft, The same capital one that send all my family several applications every month with a card inside with a number and our names on & all we have to do is sign it and return it and we have a credit card [they even provide a pen]my shredder works overtime when they arrive.

I've been getting Capital One stuff for months as well DK. They just don't give up. I wonder what their mail marketing budget is.

For ages now I stuff their prepaid return envelope with the junk from other Company mailings PLUS the stuff they've just sent to me with my name and address on (so they can see who's doing it), but it makes no difference! If they're daft enough to keep sending it to me I'll keep doing it though - it uses a small portion of their budget in postage costs.

worn one shredder out on the junk mail that comes through the door!! we now do as Rob does!! only make sure the wrong contents are put in the envelopes after checking no personal information is on it, one bright side is the postman will always be in work!!

The point is many people just throw the envelopes away without opening them, someone comes and roots through your bins takes the envelope with the card inside, signs it & sends it off, when the real card in your name arrives you see the envelope and just bin it so the scammer raids your bins again and hey presto he has a credit card in your name.

That's right! That's why I never bin them.

If you want them to stop, write/call them and firmly ask to be removed from their mailshot lists. They must do this IF you request.......

OR.....

Put yerself on the MPS register (Mailing Preference Service - the same as the TPS but for mail instead of tel calls).

There's really no need for this to frustrate anyone, you just have to do one of the above!
