Yes mate [serious]

but not for a long long time

Brilliant instrument to play but very difficult

You'll need lots of wind and puff but that shouldn't be too difficult for you

You'll need lots of wind and puff, that was never a problem for me as I am a big puff

Had a go at learning years ago ( Grew up in Oban ) had to learn the chanter first, long wooden recorder with a reed fitted, harder to blow than a breathalyser bag! Gave up. Wish you all success. Dont burst too many blood vessels trying:eek:

It's all about :-

a] Getting enough wind into the bloody thing to kick start it

b] Keeping the wind level even [stable]

Otherwise it sounds like a fecking stuffed pig [you could ask Buzz!!!]

Gave up after a few weeks and took up "Advanced Empathy Skills" which, for me, was a dam sight easier

It's a fascinating instrument to play but the neighbours [and family] will just luuuuuuuurve you LOL

Best bet is to see if there is a pipe band locally and go along and try - bet there always looking for "new blood"

That way you can try without it costing you anything

btw - if you get into the band you HAVE to wear a kilt [which was the real reason I joined in the first place    ]

When did you grow up in Oban??? Was brought up myself in Taynuilt.

I remember trying the chanter, god bloody hard. I stuck to the penny whistle in the end. Used to play very well, but haven't played for years.
