As I understand it, vegans abstain from eating or using animal based products and byproducts because animals are sentient and can feel pain, fear, etc. and they are against animal exploitation.

Current studies into plant sentience are beginning to indicate the possibility of them being sentient to a degree and future studies may well provide further proof of that.

When that day comes what are all the vegans going to live on..?

She's no longer vegan, the last post she made was about a great coffee shop that does a mean sausage & egg breakfast.

At a party at my brother’s house there was a neighbour of theirs, “oh, I can't eat that I’m vegan” “are those cucumber sandwiches vegan” etc every time she went to the table she would tell people she was vegan, she sat down with a plate full of food from the buffet, she suddenly announces “ooh these crisps are nice, what flavour are they?” My brother answered “smokey bacon” her husband then said “right, now you’ve eaten meat, quit this shit & eat properly”

I think most crisps nowadays are just flavourings, which are vegetarian, if not vegan, suitable.
But if it stops silly people being silly, then that's a good thing.
