I was chatting to Marisa who is on the subscription team at Bike, when the subject of Euro riding came up.. She is lucky enough to have a mum and dad who semi retired there and opened a guest house.. These folks are real dyed in the wool petrol heads/bikers..
Here is an excert from a mail I have from Marisa:
Their web address is www.lasablierefrance.com. The website doesn't really show La Sabliere to it's best - mum and dad's house is set in a courtyard with huge great lockable entrance gates! It's set just off the N149 between Parthenay & Bressuire, on the edge of a little village called Amailloux. They've got lockable barns for secure parking and within the courtyard there's the outbuildings / wood store / wine store / artists loft / areas for drying kit. Mum and Dad are even thinking they might not accept anyone other than bikers and car enthusiasts coz they always have such a good time and most people end up leaving as friends and then re-visiting. Plus if people are going during the season Dad does the best barbecues! Anyways, please feel free to pop an email through to them and they can send you some pictures / talk to you about it themselves etc. david.brennan@wanadoo.fr.
Soooo, if you are looking for a middle distance ride this summer, I reckon you could do worse than book in here
Anyone who does will be guarenteed a warm welcome, and we on here would appreciate any reports when you have been
