I was chatting to Marisa who is on the subscription team at Bike, when the subject of Euro riding came up.. She is lucky enough to have a mum and dad who semi retired there and opened a guest house.. These folks are real dyed in the wool petrol heads/bikers..

Here is an excert from a mail I have from Marisa:

Their web address is www.lasablierefrance.com. The website doesn't really show La Sabliere to it's best - mum and dad's house is set in a courtyard with huge great lockable entrance gates! It's set just off the N149 between Parthenay & Bressuire, on the edge of a little village called Amailloux. They've got lockable barns for secure parking and within the courtyard there's the outbuildings / wood store / wine store / artists loft / areas for drying kit. Mum and Dad are even thinking they might not accept anyone other than bikers and car enthusiasts coz they always have such a good time and most people end up leaving as friends and then re-visiting. Plus if people are going during the season Dad does the best barbecues! Anyways, please feel free to pop an email through to them and they can send you some pictures / talk to you about it themselves etc. david.brennan@wanadoo.fr.

Soooo, if you are looking for a middle distance ride this summer, I reckon you could do worse than book in here :p

Anyone who does will be guarenteed a warm welcome, and we on here would appreciate any reports when you have been

Another place in France

Hi

The gites/cottages are self catering, we are in the countryside and we don't even have to lock our front door! (it took us a bit of getting used to) but we do have covered parking. As yet we do not have our own website, but are advertising on three internet sites.

I am not sure whether I am allowed to do this, but we are on holiday-rentals.com property ref 16659. Our email address is lacdemaisongites@wanadoo.fr

I would be interested to know if anyone could recommend the best places to advertise for bikers.

Unfortunately my fireblade was written off after a nasty crash in England and my knees are not up to riding yet!

And Another

Camping or in a hut, a great place to just chill, let your hair down, take in the scenery, do some touring of the area or just to brake your journey up on the way back from s/west France or Spain :yo:

B & B IN FRANCE

Hi All,
As a long time Blackbird owner I was at the very first "Bash" in Tetford and managed to a couple after that. I am the "Scottish Guy" (is Loo Brush still around?). I wasn't at this year's bash as my girlfriend and I have bought a house in France and are currently in the process of converting it into a B and B and Campsite. We will be open for business next year and are hoping to welcome loads of bikers, maybe even having our own "bash".
The B & B will have 4 en-suite bedrooms and we have various garages and outhouses for parking bikes and storing kit. By the time we open we will have a pool and 30 pitch campsite with a couple of caravans for hire. We are in the heart of rural France, its very peaceful with great roads and plenty of places that are ideal for day trips out on the bike. We are about 10 minutes from Aubusson, in Cruese, Limousin.
The web site is still at the planning and design stage but if anyone wants any more information they can e-mail me at alexpritchard@wanadoo.fr.
