Hamas terrorists who murdered hundreds of innocent civilians in an attack on Israel were applauded at a left wing event in the sidelines of the Labour conference today.

I was just about to start a thread to ask what Israel is likely to do as a result of the attack by Hamas. So far 600 dead and dozens kidnapped as hostage.

Israel won’t allow this to go unpunished and their response is normally magnitudes greater than the initial incident. If they strike back then will Syria and Egypt feel the need to add their backing to Palestine?

It's not a simple situation, so one size fits all just doesn't cut it.

Hamas are undoubtedly a terrorist organisation and have/do commit atrocities.

I'm afraid the same could /should be said about all parties to this situation.

Britain helped start it all for it's own political reasons.

The US keeps it funded for it's political reasons.

Various Arabian countries fund/support it for their own political reasons.

Israel constantly provokes by encroaching on another countries land - and is in breach of multiple UN resolutions.

I do agree that the response to this is likely to be of an order of magnitude.
That in itself might well shatter the recent diplomatic moves towards solutions - and might well have been the intent.

When Boris was PM he promised to stop the pursuit of Soldiers who followed orders in NI yet they are still being hunted down & facing court proceedings, there are always rolling thunder rides to show support for the persecuted yet despite over 1000 motorbikes turning out for these events they are never publicised
