Might explain why people are finding road grit rather slippy

Essex concil are experimenting with a new type of grit that contains no salt, supposed to help prevent corrosion

They feed cattle on sugar beet..............its the slippiest thing (short of ST 45/46's) they could have used to cover the road :bandit:

well it's about fooking time our councils did something about the shit we use on our crap roads !
take germany for example, nearly every bugger over there owns a bmw 1150gs
not one of them suffers from corrosion, hardly any warranty work at all regards replacing fork legs etc. yet they raised concern as to the amount of warranty work carried out in the uk due to corrosion and wanted to know why. simple, we use salt based materials, the germans dont ! surely they would have more need for it than we do. so it is about time this country that is stuck in a fooking time warp got it's arse in gear and started taking lessons from europe regarding such issues.:shooter:
the end !
