Got a call this morning to say that buyer’s surveyor is coming on 22nd October, went into conservatory & the handle came away in my hand, new one coming tomorrow from Amazon, put the light on in the conservatory & the electrics tripped, new bulb resolved that problem, just wondering what’s going to happen next.

You think that's bad? We had a new boiler installed in our house last year and I forgot to register for the warranty. If registered within 30 days, the warranty is ten years. If not, it's 12 months, which has now expired.

I wouldn't worry too much if it's anything like the 'warranty' on our rather expensive gas fire - there are so many exclusions - not least the main burner, ours has fractured after three years "that'll be £400 plus labour thank you very much sir, your call is important to us" - it's not worth the paper it's written on. Think the only thing I am certain is covered is the cardboard box it was delivered in.

Back in the early eighties I was selling my Cortina 2.3 Ghia, very desirable at the time, perfect condition, never missed a beat during my ownership. First person to turn up was dribbling all over it, Easy sale I thought......bloody thing wouldn't start. Turned out the points had randomly welded themselves together.

Trading in my first car, vauxhall viva hc estate (pile of shite) was going to rake it in & swap for an avenger 1600 GLS got home to pick Bev up, came out & the bastard wouldn’t start (over heated) in temper I slammed the driver’s door, tinkle tinkle tinkle, the window smashed into tiny pieces, luckily the garage still accepted it.

I had one for a few years back in the late 80s, gold with a brown vinyl roof. Fabulous car. I was in school in Plymouth doing my second mate’s ticket at the time and I remember using a quarter of a tank of fuel over a week covering just 12 miles over a few evenings back and forth to see my girlfriend. And no, she didn’t.

Mine was a gorgeous mid-blue with grey velour interior. Also had the Crusader pin stripes and the two small round Ford driving lamps on the front. I swapped the carb for a,Dellorto twin choke as it developed a habit of stalling when coming to a stop and swapped the shocks for Spax items.

Only reason I got shot was I had just got my forst company car -'Sierra 2.0 Ghia. Preferred the Cortina.
