Allans (Buzz) Operation

Just to let you know Allan is having his operation tomorrow in Spain to pin the leg back together. The insurance company are sorting out flights & hotels for me so I should be going out by the end of the week. Its my birthday Saturday, what a way to spend your birthday eh!!
Seriously I will just be glad to get out there & be with him. I've been very much in limbo since its all happened but hopefully we can now see light at the end of the tunnel.


One the operation is complete they reckon another week before flying us both back to our local hospital were he will remain for a further 2 weeks approx.

Thanks again for all your good wishes , its been very hard at this end trying to remain focused, its true what they say life is never simple is it !!

Good luck Gill..
Make the most of your time in Spain. The majority of the hospitals there employ translaters (social workers) to liase with the patients family and, if the treatment my father received is anything to go by, you will have an update on Allan's condition daily from the doctor. NHS eat your heart out.

Just remember you'll know your going to be coming home when you leave the hospital for the airport in an ambulance with Allan. The hospital will not release him until they are certain that there will be no complications on the trip... be patient....

I'm in Dubai, so can't offer any direct support, but just know that I'm thinking of you guys and hoping all goes well. And I know there are a dozen blokes out there in Mud Island who would jump to help you both if the need arises.

You have a lot on your mind at the moment, so take time to prepare what you might need, simple things that seem so obvious like passports etc can easily slip your mind in these situation. good luck and bring the pair of you home safe.
