Allans (Buzz) Accident

Further update:

Allan has been in surgery this evening, one of two operations it transpires to repair the break. The first is traction & then a second operation will follow in a couple of weeks to pin the leg back together. Its a clean break so hopefully it will be a simple process. The surgeons are happy with whats gone on this evening. They have suggested that the pinning process could be done back in the UK which both Allan & I are deseperate for. Its just getting the insurance company to fly him back in the condition he's in at present which hopefully
wont be a problem. He is comfortable & stable, extremely pissed off at whats happed but as I've said it could have been a lot worse. Rich & Bert I have to say have been brilliant throughout this ordeal & I cannot thank them enough. I've passed on all your good wishes & messages of support. Hopefully in the next few days I will have some good news to report back to you with.
Thanks again
Gill aka Mrs Buzz

Blimey ! I have only just found out about all this .....

Not good news at all :xm

Please pass on my get wells and if there is anything I can do to help just shout ( but I am sure everyone has already said that and you know it anyway ! )

Given that it will be so much cheaper for the insurance company to fly Allan home than keep him there for a two more weeks I reckon he will soon be back in blighty :yo:

Buzz - Further update

Unfortunatly the news we've recieved today is not good as far as getting Allan back home. Doctors at both ends are saying that it is far too dangerous to fly him back in the state that he's in & therfore must remain in Spain for the operation. Both he & I are at our witts end. Bert I belive is on the way back home as we speak, leaving Rich behind for the time being. I am awaiting further updates from the insurance company to find out when the likley hood of the operation is going to be & will then be flying out to join him. Why are things never simple????

Again thanks for your good wishes

Gill

Sorry to hear of Allan's off wish him all the best....
As far as care goes he is probably better off in Spain I know my father was when he had his heart attack. As for repatriation I'm afraid you can believe he is coming home when on the plane out of there. I spent 17 days over christmas in 2004 wondering when the hell I was going to be home. The insurance should cover your hotel expenses for being with him.

All the best Punchy

Gill,

Just a quick thought - if you're having to make loads of phone calls to Spain at the moment it would be worthwhile using SkypeOut.

I frequently call Spain and it costs next to nothing.

Any help needed then get in touch............Sam
