All season boots

Riding through 4 hours of continuous rain on Sunday showed I need a new pair of boots for the winter 8ree! .

The are currently Alpinestars SMX-3 Gortex, used them all year round for over 4 years, fantastically comfy - I walked around the BMF on Saturday with them on all day with no problems and yes, I know it would have been an ideal time to get some there :bang: :bang: - warm enough in winter with a pair of thermal socks but reasonably cool in summer, good protection without being OTT and, until yesterday, perfectly waterproof. I would get another pair but I don't like the styling of the latest version and I'm not too certain how warm they would be in winter being ventilated.

Anyone got any suggestions/recomendations as to a replacement. I'm looking for something sporty but not an out and out race boot - don't need toe sliders 'cos I don't get that far over but I do want a good level of protection and support having broken both feet and ankles over the years. Obviously needs to be an all year round boot although the SMX will do for another year or so as a summer boot.

It only took me 30 minutes to get back to Northampton on the Saturday and I stayed dry as well. It was the 400 miles to the ferry on Sunday that bolloxd things. :violin: $%3un

I bought a pair of BMW Goretex last year and found them to be perfectly waterproof even on the ride home through gale force winds and heavy rain on Sunday night.... unlike my jacket
