Does one person on a Bird constitute a ride-out?

Just got back from Alicante via Calais (1400 miles). Would you believe this was with the sole purpose of getting an MOT before going back, After this trip experience, wont be going back until May (anyone want to join me?).

Left last Wednesday in 24deg and sunny but after 50 miles started raining (and much colder) and didnt stop for 2 days. Correction, it did stop but only when it snowed a blizzard crossing the Pyranees. Decided to cross from Aragon rather than the traditional Perpignon that most Brits used as this is much prettier - over Midi D'Ossuau (2884 metres). Friday morning arrived bright in Chartres but thick frost.

In future will re MOT in May - I know weather isnt guaranteed but at least I shouldnt get 100miles of Blizzard to do with soaking gloves.

Tip of the day - never exit an Alpine tunnel into France without severely slowing to check the confditions. Roads on the Spanish side were kept very clear. On exiting onto French roads however, I was suddenly greeted with 3 inches of snow on the surface; unlike rain, snow sticks to the visor so this means riding one handed whilst continuously wiping snow of the visor with the other and trying not to slide on the uncleared French snow.

Still - any ride that you get home from is a good one
