Akrapovic 4-1 end can mounting bracket needed

I run an Akrapovic 4-1, usually with a titanium straight-through end can.

However I have a second spare carbon end can which is quieter which I want to fit for a long tour I'm about to do as the wife prefers the quieter one...

I've never fitted the carbon one before except as a quick test, so I dont have the footpeg-hanger mounting strap for it.

Does anyone know HTF to find out which bracket/strap is the correct one for the can?

The can is labelled M-H3C. The only place I've found straps for sale is here, and there is no lookup table to establish which strap fits which can and there are lots of different ones - DOH!

Anyone know which one fits this can?

Visit Harris performance parts, only in same area as you in Herts!

They were brill with me. They will fabricate for you. I was going to do away with my rear pillion footrests with standard cans and just have a bracket and they said no problem. I decided against it in the end. They did however fabricate a front paddock stand for me at reduced height so I could use it on blackbird with centre stand. Made front wheel removal and cleaning a doddle. They were brilliant

It was about 10 yrs ago so maybe they are too good for this now coz of BSB etc but worth a go

Thanks for that.

Unfortunately the first link only shows a photo of the strap, and all the straps for sale look remarkably similar, but all have different part numbers and I assume dimensions.

Do you have a link for the info you reference on the Akro site - I can't find it - in fact I can't find anything historic on their site - bit useless it would seem.

Considering their reputation, I was rather expecting to simply enter the can number and get a quick response as to what strap I need. Maybe I'm missing something...

Cheers

then if you go to akro's site there is only the 2006 listed but scroll down on the link and it shows the part numbers for the straps?

Can you perhaps point me to the Akro site you saw this on? I cannot find it after some considerable searching.

Cheers.

The only listing for CBR1100XX I can find on the Akro site is deep in a pdf catalog, shown as:

Honda CBR 1100 XX 2004 - 2006 Slip-On Line (Carbon) YES NO YES NO SS-H11SO2-HC

This doesn't match the M-H3C designation on my pipe, nor does it offer any advice on the required strap in order to mount it.

I'm amazed Akro can run their company with such a dearth of info about which strap fits which can on which bike.

Have you actually contacted them, I found that a direct question to the right person can sort all kinds of crap out, as long as you get "the right person"!! :bang:

God have I tried to contact them, Them being http://www.motorcycleexhaustsystems.co.uk/ also know as http://www.bikenation.co.uk/, and it would seem a subsidiary or affiliation of https://www.4th-dimension.co.uk/.

WHAT A LOAD OF TOSSERS!!

4 weeks ago I tried to phone motorsycleexhaustsystems, using the number on their web site which is full of an extensive list of Akropovic exhausts and mounting straps. They appear to be an official provider of this stuff

It took over a week, calling every day before anyone even answered the phone. I then got a guy called Marcus, who has proven to be the most useless person I have met in a while. He took my details and said he would talk to those who know and get back to me.

He never did.

So I emailed him, twice.

No replies.

So after 4 weeks of being mucked about, and with no other Akrapovic parts supplier coming up after extensive Googling, today I decided to bite the bullet and go to their premises as advertised at the bottom of their web page, which after all says "Let's meet" right next to the address.

So I arrive. The premises is signed as 4th Dimension. No sign of the exhaust company or Bikenation.

I go in. Someone comes to see me and looks at me as if I just shat in the swimming pool. "Why have you come here - its an online shop".

I explain the situation, and suggest that I'm getting the impression that the exhaust company is a one man band who must be on holiday.

"Oh no, he's here" I'm told. Well why hasn't he answered his fookin phone in over two weeks???

Then I am directed to the next building, also signed 4th Dimension. The elusive Marcus comes out to meet me, and mumbles something about remembering my call best part of 3 weeks ago. "Oh they didn't get back to me so I forgot about it". What a geezer. :(

The more I talk to him about my requirement, the more I realize that a) he doesn't know anything, and b) he doesn't give a shit.

I finally prize the name and number of his supplier out of him and leave.

I look up his supplier online and there is not a mention of Akrapovic on the site.

So oh yes, I most certainly did contact them...

And another thing. When I got knocked off my pristine Blackbird last year, it was 4th fookin Dimension who took the bike away for examination, and brought it back 2 weeks later covered in specs of rust and filth. The bastards had obviously left my bike outside in the winter for the full two weeks.

Do not do business with this company if you can possibly avoid them. They are scum, with large corporate contracts to repair crashed motorblkes for insurance companies and have not a jot of compassion or love for the work they do.

Well here's a thing.

Considering that BikeNation/4th Dimension/Exhaust Systems said their supplier never got back to them...

I mailed their supplier - Performance Parts of Daventry - about two hours ago, and within the hour I already have a reply clearly listing the part I need, further reinforcing the fact that the aforementioned company is a pile of the proverbial doodoo when it comes to any kind of customer service.

One last thing - their website lists everything clearly as "in stock". But Marcus informed me that nothing is in stock...
