Seem to remember there was a lot of discussion on here about the crash where the Cardiff City player Emiliano Sala and the pilot lost their lives.

Tonights new episode has this as its subject matter.

Pow-Lo
I’m scared of flying so don’t watch those programmes. Mrs P does though, and she flies for a living. She’s weird.

What channel was it on? All joking aside, asking for Mrs P, she wants to watch it on catch up.

National Geographic.

I have never understood why anybody should be scared of flying.

You should be scared of crashing.

Fear is neither rational nor logical. I don’t understand how people can be afraid of mice or spiders but hey-ho.

Be very afraid
My cousin was an airline pilot all his working life (he has recently retired). When we were teenagers we used to take the piss out of him as he wanted to be a pilot.
At 17 or 18 years old we used to go on regular flights with him in little Cesna's and stuff from Blackpool airfield or Booker airfield down south.
Anyway he followed his dream and became an airline pilot and somewhere further along the line he married an Air stewardess.

He used to go on regular long haul flights, His wife then decided she was going to really impress him and secretly learn to fly whilst he was away. It should have been a fantastic surprise for my cousin....But..

During one of her flight training lessons the aircraft reached about 250 feet altitude and the propeller sheared off, the crank shaft actually sheared. The instructor took the controls and they crash landed into a field. My cousin's wife sustained facial injuries which required numerous operations over many years. The engine manufacturer wanted the case to be heard in the USA but that was thrown out.

She never went on to get her private pilots license, but she still flies on big proper aircraft.

Dont know if this link will work but this is the official report of the accident

I'm especially scared of flying spiders and mice
I’ve never seen flying spiders - what have you been smoking? And how do you cope on the computer if you’re scared of a mouse?

Has she confused parrots with spiders? Easy mistake to make (after smoking copious quantities of weed, I guess :sisi1).

Landing is just a controlled crash!
I think it was Chuck Yeager who said something along the lines of ‘any landing you can walk away from is a good one. Any landing where you can walk away and reuse the aircraft is a great landing’.

No, mine was first……….. and significantly better as well.
Borrox. We posted at exactly the same time, but the little electrons take longer to reach JAWS basement server in Nurfuck from here than from your Froganese outpost.

And you can whistle for your Christmas card now....
