Hi all, w;;v As most of you know, Bert has kindly given me his "old" leathers, and for that I am most grateful, :bow: now, as most of you may have seen them, you will no doubt be wondering "why would Ian possibly want advise on those for" :rolleyes: well it appears that some of you lot, ar-nt too taken with the "fetching" {as in up,} colours, what I need to know is how to change one or two of the lighter colours to a slightly darker colour!! permanently, :dunno:
as for the "fitting" I'm trying to put as much weight on as poss "to fill the arse and belly out", but I'm at a loss as to how to stretch my arms to allow me stick my little paws out of the ends, :rolleyes:
so here we go, how and what treatment would be best for permanently colouring these leathers, :dunno:
and yes I am aware that I'm gonna get "some stick" but I would among the crap appreciate one or two sensible answers, thanks in advance :f
btw they may "look" wrong on me whilst standing about, but they are comfy and fit well when I'm on the bike,

jesting apart...if you wish to change the colour..the only real option is to buy new that are different colours...
None of the dyes on the market do much good....

cheers Clive, :bow: knew Id get one sensible answer eventually, :rolleyes: Im going to a saddlery to see if they have any "preperations" to strip the old "proofing" etc off before redying, Im not sure how long its going to take, so if I need to go on a "rider skills day" at the drop of a hat I shall wear waterproofs over them, :}
seems a shame really cos when Im wearing them I cant see them so it dosnt really bother me, :dunno:
maybe I should go out and buy a cbr600 in the same colours like Bert did, :eek:

Southern smart arse to Northern neanderthall

This may come as a surprise but darn ere in Kent we use a plastic levver spray whot is really good. Its called liquid plastic and its made by Bradleys, located at Old Station Yard, Marlesford, in Suffolk, Tel 01728 747900. its a lot easier than cleaning and dyeing and drying and waiting and then repeating the process, still there you go , mabe you will catch up with us one day. :neenaw: :neenaw: 8l1nd

Ian.

Leave them as they are mate, They look OK, honest.....

Its just that they are very slightly .. er... unusual.
Dont let them take the pi$$, stand up like a proper northerner and show your true colours.

Well i dont know what all the fuss is about,

If you had said you had a RED bird i wouldnt have been so urinating, its almost colour coded for the bike, anyway try the plastic spray, its really good stuff, if you got a black can then it might cover the PINK,

Just be carefull if you come further south than London !!
