advice on buying 2nd hand

looking at adding a bike to the garage - i've put 11k on the bird since i got it in early march, and would like to spread the mileage a little (plus i miss flat twin bms!). have been looking at buying either an ex-police bike or a stolen recovered machine.

has anyone had any experience with either of these options? or any advice?

Rod,I had the same idea the miles were racking up on the bird so a good excuse to get a second bike I went for the r1150gs wanting something completely different to the bird

But it didn't work I'm still doing the same miles on the bird plus similar on the gs lol
