Just an intro bought my blackbird two weeks ago (51 plate) absolutely loving it, its my first ever bike and will tootle around town with ease and twist the go and it'll give a white knuckle ride, i am really looking forward to bit of touring probably next year !!

As you say it's your first bike :eek: just be a little careful .... yep it's a pussy cat but it gives a hefty roar and bites if you wind it on ..

w;;v Take it real easy as its your first bike, it can bite. I advise you take some enhanced motorbike lessons with your local bike trainer, you'll definitely benefit from a few hours enhanced training. There are too many mistakes that new riders make or are unaware of in the first few months of biking.

That said, most folks who drop the bike do so while its stationary or nearly stationary as the weight/balance/bad luck can catch you out. It took me 5 years of ownership before I dropped mine...bl4hbl4h

Regardless, welcome to the bird nest, give as good as you get, and most of all don't forget how to log on.

Thanks for the notes, good advise from Silver Fox i am sorting out enhanced lessons at the moment, will definately keep logged on here .

Be PARTICULERLY careful when, in the wet, it is VERY easy for the foot to slip off the side stand. You think it's down and don't realise it isn't until it is too late h1d1ng2

I done that outside Sainsburys in Staines. Unfortunately the females were not impressed with my involuntary loud language, cos that was the first time I dropped it c7u8

OMG.......Darn heavy bike to drop as well, thanks for the advise i will definately make sure the stands down else your Staines shoppers will here me losing it here in Nuneaton @tu*

Had a streaming freeekin cold that day........so decided to have a rolling road somewhere near Cheshunt.

Went in for some breakfast on the way, stopped outside the cash machine.

Slippery side stand, was being too quick ..... CRUNCH, this time I was lucky, when it happened AGAIN outside the MICKEY D'S ..... NEW FRONT NOSE CONE c7u8
