I can honestly confess I am addicted to Ebay. I`ve spent nearly all day (again!) on the bloody thing looking for things i dont even need.
Every opportunity i get to have a browse or keep track of my bids, im on there. I had to hurry back from the supermarket today because an auction was due to end!
Is anybody else like this or do I have problem? :h :h

I do have to admit that it is a wee bit exiting, esp when you see the bidding shoot up to ?230 on an old outboard engine I was selling :yo:

And I have just bought another car off there ! This one is another Uno for Mo ( to replace the one I killed stone dead ! ).
Only trouble is it is in Ferndown, some 190 miles from me ( Near Poole ) so now have gotta figure out a way of getting to it !
Oh and the monkey bike is now up to ?405, the Ratboy ( :p )three piece suite is no bids as is the Star Trek info pack !
Next thing to go on there will be a tefal food steamer ( she used it twice and decided she did not like it ! ) and a would you believe a tail lift designed for wheel chair access to a bus !
I was gonna use it as a bike lift but after testing it out I just do not have the room to spare it would take up :bang:

Hmmmm.

Not being an e bayer myself I don't know how I would feel ,but talking to friends who are they certainly seem to get something out of it.
Another point is that they seem to have become so greedy. They seem to sell everything. Their houses must now be empty.
I think that giving a lot of the stuff to charities is another option and perhaps they might feel good about that.

How sad, so sad.

Please go outside and find a life. :neenaw: :neenaw:   :B :B

I must admit I look at the Ebay pages and it looks like there's bargains to be had, until you add post on, and I'am not really happy that I can't physically see & touch the goods.
So have you regular Ebay'ers got any advice/tips ? :h

Always check the feedback of the person you are buying from, read the comments from other people, Most people on ebay are genuine.

One neg was from a guy who sold me pirated software. Cos I negged him he did the same. I have neutral feedback from a guy who did not go through with his transactions, its such a pain.......................

I have no feedback and I trust me :puke:

In all honesty I bought from people with over 1000 transactions and perfect feedback, yet the goods were not perfect, the dilemma then is.
Do you give them bad feedback and hope they have given you good feedback or accept they will give you bad feedback as well.

If im the buyer, i make sure i pay straight away and wait for them to give me good feedback. Then I`ll do the same. If the goods are not up to scratch, then I`ll tell the truth and give the required feedback. Upto now, I`ve been lucky and not received any bad (or given any).

I suppose its the luck of the draw.

Birdinflight, You may be a fantastic e-bayer, but personally, i would not bid with anyone who has less than 99.8%, unless i read the feedback and found it was a one off........

Estimate it Silverone. Or find someone selling the same or similar items to you and use their post charge as a guide.

Or weigh the item on a pair of kitchen or bathroom scales and look up the postal charges on Royal Mail's website. Add a bit on for bubble wrap and brown paper etc.

I use kitchen scales most of the time.. and if you go to the post office ( one more time :p ) they can supply with booklets giving you all the charges.
I would suggest you get three booklets.
the standard postal charge one, the Parcel Force one, andthe one for sending abroad.
If you do not have scales then use a bit of wood on something like a seesaw and a bag of suger.
A whole bag weighes a kilo.. so hald a bag is .5 etc etc :p

In the meantime if you want a postage cost email me cos ( for obvious reasons ! ) I have all the books to hand !
