.............I'm the 'Nearlyman' two years in succession :B
Last year recovering from prolapsed disc and couldn't ride far, I made the 09.30 meet. [I'll do anything for a 'Mrs Shrops Bacon Bap' LOL] but I would never have made the full day let alone weekend..........
This year, we have guests for the weekend. Kicking around the house Fri night before our guest arrive on the Sat, everyone's out or away and I'm mooching round...
At 19.00, it's an ace evening so I says to CB "Think I'll go for a ride"........."Maybe not - nowhere to go"
"Why dont you go to Brimfield" says CB
"What for ?" say I not really thinking [Q Bert!]
"Aren't the Massif meeting up tonight ?" What a star.........
40 mins later arrive at Shrops house [Thanx Garmin LOL] No feckker there. Don my Clouseau hat............Is that a pub I spy nearly 100 yards away...."It's a long shot, Squiffy, but the Wingco will stick us on jankers if we return empty handed" [did you spot the switch to Flt Lt Slightly-Smiling mode there ?]
Bugger me, [metaphorical] there they are...Jon's got me a pint of Tetley on the bar and everyone's got a bowl of food for me too including numerous copies of an incredible looking steak and kiddlely [that's what I said diddle I ?] pie. having eaten just before I left sunny Glaws, I politely decline but manage a tres bon bread and butter pudding to die for later for sweet followed by a shot of Taliskers.
Jon keeps on at me for...........must have been........thirty?.........forty............nanoseconds.
"Why don't you stay over and have some more beer" [I'm paraphrasing for brevity here but you get the picture.........]
"OK" I sigh "Lend us your mobile" :}
I ring CB and the lady GIVES ME A PASSOUT. I know why I married her now !! She's a star and no mistake [is that enough, Claire ?]
Anyway, Green light, GO!!!!! Beers galore. Back to Shrops at 11.30 to await the arrival of the Cornwall Annexe...with more celebratory beers when Taff and Ros eventually get to us at nearly midnight. What stars !! [clear night LOL] On the pink one as I remember.
Shrops tries to put me up on the top bunk over Jon and Anya !?!
The ladder is against the wall. OK going up, but no way of getting down quick in the event of an alcohol fuelled prostate moment. Besides, Anya's farts are legendary but let's draw a veil over this scene..................
Jon and I ship the mattress to under the stairs, which funnily enough, is where Lorna first suggested after seeing the Cornwall photos when I had to sleep with the cat.........happily right next door to the downstairs trap - nice one !!
07.50 next morning, I am rudely awakened by Shrops the weekend gypsy coming in through the front door from his RV where he spent the night testing the stability gyros. Lorna and he apparently had a Labrador in there with them too. Don't know what all that's about I'm sure. Howl ? cor, bloody 'ell !!
He wakes me with a cheery "Who the feck are you, get out of my house" I wait for Lorna to cook me 2 bacon baps, I eat them then I do...............:} :}
Thanks to all for a top night. I had a ball. You all clearly had a good weekend. I can't wait to actually complete one of these welsh weekends.........
Just goes to show.........There ain't no party like a Massif party !!

Just like to thank you personaly to you all THANKYOU.
Fiona&myself had the best rideout over the wales run and the cat and fiddle,superb great people great bikes,roads twisty-bits,cattle-grids,rabbits,and some real arse-nipping moments:blush: we enjoyed every minute!
Thanks to all the other peeps we met you peple made it perfect,not forgotten and not last my bird for staying under both of us even with slick's on
