Just got this from KevKing ....
jealous ? Me ?? fookin right I am !!!!

Hi Everyone
I have been with the WAVE RULER now since the middle of July and have been
pretty busy on the Caribbean patrol. We started off doing hot weather trials
in the Gulf of Mexico which was good for the suntan for a week, then after a
short but great stay in New Orleans we were doing counter-drug operations
with a group of Americans onboard. We achieved our first success when we
apprehended (with some help from an American helo) a drug runners boat
carrying 1500 kg of cocaine ?V not sure of the street value but must be
pretty high. Shortly after that a short stop in Curacao, Dutch Antilles was
cut short as we headed off to the Turks and Caicos islands which had just
been hit by hurricane Frances. Luckily they were not too badly off but about
a week later we were dispatched to Grenada as hurricane Ivan was due to hit
there. Well, it did big time ?V when we arrived the place was pretty
decimated, bits of houses all over the hills and general destruction,
including a 300 year old church and the national football stadium (wrong
shaped ball anyhow). Our teams managed to help restore power and to treat
around 200 casualties after repairing the hospital before a bigger
international aid team arrived from neighbouring countries. We were soon off
again to follow Ivan across the Caribbean and heading for Grand Cayman.
Again on arrival it looked pretty bad, but being a very rich nation with all
the banking, they had been better prepared and most people used hurricane
shelters effectively despite extensive damage and flooding. The highest
point on Grand Cayman is lower than the height of our bridge! Again we
helped restore basic supplies and provided medical cover whilst the island
returned to its feet. We have just had a few days in Aruba to recover
ourselves and our stores (nice to turn up at an island which is still in one
piece!) and are now back in Curacao for a couple of weeks maintenance. Great
for the tan but bad on the bank balance. Carolyn is with me at the moment
and is enjoying the space and ensuite in the cabin! She is due to go back to
Singapore on 10th October. Hired a Harley for the day yesterday ?V I know
it??s not a Blackbird but on an island that??s only 20 by 10 miles the
Harley was much more comfortable for a young lady??s bum! By the way, I came
off mine shortly after I saw you guys in the summer - stitches in knee and
cracked collarbone plus various bruises but both me and the bike are now
back in one piece but wont be able to get on until next June as I will be in
Singapore and Oz for Xmas time and then off to my next ship in February
(hope its somewhere warm). Now we are back in Curacao for another two weeks
maintenance then its off to St Lucia, via some more anti-drug operations.
So, my escape date will be sometime towards the end of November of beginning
of December. Hope to see you if possible before I go off to Singapore to
crack on with preparations for the big (wedding) day in February. Do keep in
touch with the news and hope to hear from you in some form in the coming
weeks
All the very best
Kev

Who the hell would would want to be a prime case for skin cancer, when they could be here looking forward to a good old British winter.
