Well, here we are...

The 2008 Bash aftermath...

Jan, Suzie, Paul & I would like to express our sincere thanks to all who came to the Bash this weekend...They say its the people who make a party, and you lot really made this weekend worthwhile...:bow:

Must admit, it was a LOT of hard work, and we had more than a few headaches getting everything sorted, but it all came good in the end...

We have learned a few lessons from this one (the first big one we have done) including, we need a skip on-site for the rubbish, we ride faaaar to fast for some folks...So Slooooooow down on the rideouts :)dunno:) Need more folks to eat the food...

We really feel sorry for the Danes, who after their jouney over to see us, lost us after a little "incident" on the road, and with one rather "angry" woman, they decided to travel to Scotland before the end of the bash. I offer my sincere apologies if they feel agreived.

But it seems to us that most of the folks who came enjoyed themselves, abd that we came back from the ride-out with no loss of life, and all still in one piece.

Only Tank & I dropped our bikes (both in the same place at the entrance gate), and luckily, no real damage to either...

So, to the main items of the Bash... The competitions, and the Auctions...

The Karaoke King award went to Kev, after a "sing-off" with Artemis & Our very own "Wurzels (If you had been there Chuff, they may have got it) Having heard Kev "give it some", I reckon he is, or should be a proffessional singer

The Furthest travelled went to Hertog Jan from the IXXRA group who came all the way from Holland. (It would have gone to the Danish contingent, but they left before the prizegivings... Sorry peeps...

Best bike went to Mark, who's machine was a masterpiece of homespun talent.. Much respect to you Mark.

As there wasnt a really badly presented machine, the worst presented bike was awarded (ironically) to Russ fa Fyvie.... Who, I hope will eventually forgive me, but I couldn't see him go home without a trophy after coming all that way... As Hornblower & I discussed, the painwork is technically brilliant, and the bike is a masterpiece of painting artistry... BUT, we didnt actually like it..:dunno: Custom bikes are a very personal thing done to the artistic temperament of the owner... One mans meat etc etc...

Due to the weather, the midi moto racing had to be posponed, and the Bungee guy didnt turn up (money to be refunded to us by him + a bit of compensation for CLIC as well) so those trophies are being saved until next year....

Up to this moment, we have raised a total of ?2080 from the bash & auction... You lot really are the most generous people it has ever been my priveledge to meet.

At the end of the festivities, young Dave (the rather excellent DJ)put us on the spot & asked if we would do it again next year....The folks there decided they would like another one there, so, if there is enough interest, I think we may just do the Blackbird Bash 2009...

Once again, thanks for making this a weekend to remember (especially a smoochy dance with about 20 people (Silver one has the photos) which put a tear or two in Jan & my eyes, with our friends around us, and was a moment we will always cherish...

Thanks to all those who helped, with dishing out the food, getting the midi motos going, and every other little details that slip my greying old age mind...

Cheers all,

Jan, Suzie, Paul, and a really humbled Rolfy Dave

Yup have to agree with that, I did promise them to Rhino but to be realistic I dont think they'd stretch over his fat ass (or head )w;;v

So Matty looks like you're this years benefactor of "the pants"
You'll have to wait till June the 13th to get them though.

Isn't it always the quiet but warped ones you have to watch out for? Good luck restitching your window - hope it's not too bad a repair.

When you change them :puke:
Hell no, I done my duty and wore "the pants" for all the time I was entrusted with them, and spent the week before the Bash scrapping the stains off ready for the new receipeant.
They are now freshly laudered and waiting, well kinda.
