2 second advantage

Last Friday at Prestwold circuit - a sight was to be seen!

Unusually for a level-headed PLOD - a certain member of this forum rose to the bait - big time!

2 second gap behind a new blade - gained over a single lap!

So out our intrepid warrior went.......determined to close or beat the 2 second gap

After what appeared to be a reasonably quick lap [1;15;30] - 90 seconds later, said "anonymous Bird Rider" appeared over the horizon - back straight - heading toward the chicane - flat on the tank - wringing it's neck

Funny sight of 4 people leaping off straw safety bales in earnest as said "Bird Rider" headed straight for them [phooking me included!!!]

Down the box - 5-4-3 - hard on the "linked and unbraided" stoppers.........

........heeling in towards the chicane

Still far too fast so dropped down to 2nd and boy did the back end "twitch"

Lap time?

4 seconds quicker than the Blade Baiter at 1;13;57

Not bad for a lunatic GrandFather :bow: :bow: :bow:

and he wants me to ride pillion?

Yea, and the R1 ridden by a pro racer could only manage 1:13:00 dead.

Half as heavy again, brakes not so good, and still shows Blades and R1's the way home. The BIRDS have it :bow:

Half as heavy again, brakes not so good, and still shows Blades and R1's the way home. The BIRDS have it :bow:

Sorry DS was intrested in your R1 for a track bike but might as well buy a Bird now as you can tour on that as well
