Sorry to hear about Pete - didn't know he wasn't healing properly - and hope very much that the surgery sorts him out.
Might be the pelvis, rather than the hip - at least, that's what the consultant has told (my) Pete. Has another appt in Dec for the decision about that, so on the other hand, this unfortunate happening to Blackbird Pete 'may come in useful'. (it's an ill wind ... etc) (Using my ESP I predict a telephone call from someone in Warwickshire, to someone in the New Forest within the near future!)
Yes, it's scary to think of spending the rest of your life with a broken collarbone but on the other hand bearing in mind (my) Pete's ankle took ages to start joining up, his collarbone IS definitely still broken; he thinks (judging mainly by the pain and the grating sensation) that at least one of his ribs still isn't joined up to whatever it should be joined to (or he has rebroken it/them coughing or something) - and now eight months down the line - they're considering hacking a bit out of his pelvis to mend his collarbone ..... so, if that doesn't heal either, how much worse off might that leave him?
Any orthopaedic experts amongst our happy band?
Anyone else actually had it done in the past?
TIA Jenny
Sorry for the hi-jack (but I am a tiddly bit concerned - sorry again!)
Anyone know a good joke about it, then?
