You’ve obviously never driven a Duster, joking aside a few years ago I had a ride in the back of one & wasn’t impressed, last year a friend bought one & I was impressed at how much they’d improved, normally I’m indifferent to driving & just see it as a necessity for getting from a to b, I actually enjoy driving the Duster.
I haven't but there's one in our office car park though, '17 plate. It's a funny burnt yellow colour but that might be corrosion. Skoda improved after being bought by Volkswagen and I would have bought another if the dealership in Maidstone weren't such twats.

Skoda are one of the best makes on the market however their price has risen & are now around the same price as vw’s & Seats.

They might be one of the best in terms of reliability but the customer service at some dealerships is less than impressive (which can be said for pretty much every brand, except Lexus). Also, the looks of some models are downright hideous, namely the Fabia, Karoq and Kodiaq. The new Octavia and Superb look pretty good though.

Nobody is going to argue they are good value for money derek.

it’s just a bit hard comparing them to premium brands.

Years ago I did a delivery to a Skoda factory near Prague! It had machine gun towers on the main entrance! Moved on a bit since then!!;)

Why is it? Premium brands are way over priced, I love Jags but the reason I don’t have one (or two) is because even driving a six Month old one off the forecourt loses too much money.

I hate to tell you but your Dishcloth will have as well.

Its the nature of the commodity.

Obviously but not to the extent of premium brands.
Proportionally there probably isn’t much in it either way.

Better by far buying ‘almost new’ if you can find what you want.

Which isn’t easy at the moment apparently.

My Duster is on a 68 plate, it had just over 2000 miles on the clock when I bought it last August, I paid £12000 for it, when I come to sell it in probably about three years I may only get £2000 for it, £10,000 depreciation in four years.
Daughter’s neighbour bought an Audi A5 for £75000 three years ago, it’s current resale value is less than £35000, £40000 depreciation in three years.

Dusters maybe a good car, but with a name like that it smacks of cleaning, next dacia will be bringing out a mop model
