Waterproof gear

This morning I got absolutely soaked on the way to work .....
Despite me reproofing my textile suit last week (clearly didn’t work as well as I hoped) ... why is it always the crotch and arms that get wet first ?

So .... time to invest in some waterproof jacket and trousers (light weight) that can be carried on the bike for those torrential days like today !

I thought about all in ones ... but it’s a faff getting then on and off, so it could be a 2 piece I will go with ..... and more importantly not too expensive!

Just checking various websites and a 2 piece would cost me about £50, which for the occasional use I can justify the spend

Any recommendations and suggestions on what to avoid or what to look for would be welcomed

THANKYOU ....
PS been at work 2 hours and my work clothes are still damp

Never had any luck with 2 piece wet gear..
About 20 years ago I bought a JTS one piece that has never let me down
I do get a dribble down the back of my neck off the helmet but that's about all

I use Richa Rain Warrior - 200 mile is various rain levels and still kept me dry.

Stopping the moisture coming in is easy, spray with Fabsil waterproofing, works a treat (y).
Trouble is as you get older all the dribbles originate from the inside , tried a Jubilee clip never again :(.

I replaced my two piece waterproofs with a one piece Oxford set because the two piece never really kept me that dry, mostly around the waist down. Hard rain & 70mph winds usually conspired to find a way in.

The one piece Oxford set works well & comes with its own integral bag. The downside is once out of the bag, it's virtually impossible to get back in again & its a PITA to get on & off. Not the sort of thing you could under a bridge during a ride. so in 10 years, I've only used them twice.

They're there for emergencies if I need them, but my Hein Gericke textiles having been re-proofed twice are good for all but the most torrential downpours, like last Saturday, but it was only my arms that got a little damp.

Having said that, they're 12 years old so I've just ordered some Alpinestars stuff with the money I've saved not having to commute every day.

Australian biker gear textile trousers, regularly done 3 to 400 miles in torrential rain in those & never got wet yet, 5 years old now & still as good as the day I bought them + they do different leg lengths so most people can actually find some to fit

Weise over jacket, not as much use as above but makes that non waterproof textile fully weather proof again & stuffs in a pocket when not in use, picked mine up for 25 quid

If it’s only a short trip it’s leather jacket and jeans or full leathers depends on the bike I’m riding. I’ve a Weise jacket and trousers if it looks a bit inclement. Further still I’ll take the Dainese full weatherproofs .

Usually use a 3 layer Akito desert 2 piece that has never leaked in 5 yrs... back that up with a one piece oversuit for biblical rain .
Having toured the Dordogne with 5 days of heavy rain the only thing that got wet was my gloves which eventually rotted and were thrown away.
My mates RST 2 piece leaked from day one ! Despite being "waterproofed" just before our departure.

Held 2 piece textile suit (Uncover jacket and Icano trousers) for normal day to day wet weather.
Richa Typhoon 1 piece to carry for touring in leathers or kevlar jeans.
